Four times better is now four times better!

 

Suppose I were to tell you that:

My GALLON of Motor Oil had 4 times as much as my competitor's QUART of oil?

My 20-POUND bag of potatoes had 4 times as much as my competitor's 5-POUND bag?

My $20.00 bill was worth 4 times as much as my competitor's $5.00 bill?

Well, you might think me to be a simpleton.  And yet, Kodak is apparently using this same premise to let us all in on the earth-shattering news...

 

...that their 400-speed film
(that is, it is 4 times as sensitive as a 100-speed film)

is 4 times as sensitive as a competitor's 100-speed film.
But this wasn't really anything newsworthy, because
... in 1998, they let us know that

800-speed film is -- get this --
 Eight times more sensitive than 100-speed film!

But they certainly weren't the first, because...
In 1990, Fuji had already announced to the world the startling discovery that...

400-speed film is four times as sensitive as 100-speed film!

How did they ever calculate that?

Amazing!
