Have a Star-Spangled Christmas! |
Apparently the advertiser and
manufacturer missed a meeting; the one where they might have learned:
a) Christmas is celebrated in many countries besides the United States. b) Santa Claus is based on the
mythical tale of Sinterklaas, from The
Netherlands, c) Saint Nicholas, from Patara, in present-day Turkey. |
| In short, neither Santa Claus nor Christmas are exclusively American. | |
So why is Santa dressed like
Uncle Sam, holding a U.S. Flag, "showing off his red, white and blue pride?"
